The musical genre of THE ARMED GANG is in funky, electronic funky, dance and black music, with strong soul and R&B influences. All the songs are characterized by a strong presence of bass and funky guitar, always played by Sangy.
CAREER
The Armed Gang has been founded in 1982 by the italian composers, arrangers, and players SANGY (Maurizio Sangineto) and Bottmann (Flavio Botta), friends since they were young boys.
The first release, in 1982, has been the single “All I want”, sung as special guest by Jay Rolandi (Rolando Zaniolo) of the FIREFLY, another SANGY’s production.
This production was immediately appreciated in USA where it was released on Chaz Ro label, remixed in New York by Chris Scott, Herbert Csasznik and Tony Valor at the Sigma Sound Studios.
After this first success, the second single, also published in 1982, has been “Everybody celebrate” featuring the brilliant voice of Larry Tomco, great american musician and sax player.
This production signs the beginning of the collaboration with Sandy Dian, very talented italian sound engineer, at his RG Studio.
The third production, “Love shot” (1983), signs the beginning of the collaboration with the american singers, at that time military of the Vicenza base, Kenneth Claiborne and Joe Beach, with the additional presence of the talented singer James White.
In 1984 has been released the first album “THE ARMED GANG”, become legendary for funky music fans around the world.
